About

HarvestHello, my name’s Llordllama* and thanks for popping by.  This blog is a space for me to share two of my greatest passions – cooking and walking in the great outdoors.  You’ll find in here a collection of my culinary work complimented by my efforts in my growing kitchen garden.  This means you’ll be getting recipes as well as glimpses of produce that’s in season fresh from the soil.  If you’re very lucky I might blog about my livestock as well.

Alongside this I’ll try and share some of my adventures walking around the UK, with routes and tips on interesting walks to go on.

Why “Walking With Llama Paws”?
It’s a slight play on words based on the popular TV show “Walking with Dinosaurs”.  I’ve gone by a llama related handle for some years in cyberspace, so much so that I tend to answer to Llordllama as often as my given name (or Mr Llordllama if we’ve not been introduced before).  I nearly went with “The  Deli Llama” but there’s a restaurant called that and I wouldn’t want anyone to get confused!

Greedy Gooses Rating
In a very real (and somewhat metaphysical) sense I appear to live with a gaggle of opinionated, cheese hungry and demanding geese.  Sorry, gooses (they hate it when I get that wrong).  In terms of food they are my major steakholder (sic) and client.  They can be very demanding, but they are also here to offer an unbiased assessment on the food I create.  Thus you’ll see a little “honks out of 10” rating on all the recipes – as indicated by the number of demanding gooses appearing below their comments with their beaks open asking for more.

You can talk to them directly on twitter too.
